Hydraulic Power Packs and E11 Certification

Within the mobile hydraulic power industry, there are certain safety and conformity regulations that must be adhered to in order to ensure that products are reliable and safe to use. These standards are referred to as the E Mark, which is a branch of the ECE Marks. These standards help consumers understand that a product meets industry standards.

So, what is the E Mark?

Simply speaking, an E Mark demonstrates that a product has been tested and adheres to EU standards. The numbers that come after the E, signify which standards are met. For example, E11 refers to the UK, whilst E37 signifies Turkey.

What does this mean for you?

E11 Certified

The E11 certification should provide you with peace of mind about the Hydraulic Power Pack you are purchasing, as you will know it meets reliability and safety standards. Repercussions of purchasing an unsafe product could be catastrophic for a business in terms of safety and value for money. Therefore, it should be avoided at all costs. Ensuring products purchased have the E11 certification, often found in the form of a logo, saves a lot of valuable time and money, not to mention reduces the safety risks significantly.

The specifics;

An E Mark is an ECE Mark that certifies a vehicle or vehicle component product is approved for sale in the EU. It covers everything from commercial vehicles, general vehicles and construction machinery.  To achieve the certification, equipment must meet EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards.

How is a product tested?

approved

In order to certify that a product meets EMC standards, it is tested by an independent facility, an approved test house, to ensure it achieves each of the criterion outlined in the standards. In addition, a CoP (Conformity of Production) must be issued.

And a CoP is?

A CoP is simply a quality control plan to ensure that all future products meet the same standards and are therefore safe and reliable.

E Marking began in 2004;

E Marking came into effect under the 2004/104/EC directive which regulated the movement of electronic equipment used in motor vehicles in Europe. This was as a result of stricter regulation which came into force in 2002.
